Trailing shredded papers

It’s been a while since the last time I did tracking and to enjoy the nature while running along pathways.

Last Saturday was a good chance. My ex boss suggested me to join so I went. It was held by a group called HHH and they do this every Saturday. Non members had to pay 30 k rups. There were 3 paths, short one for kids, medium for teenagers-adult, and long ones for people who’s up for the challenge. I went for the medium one.

We went through small paths, crossed paddy fields, walked alongside the Ayung river, climb a bit and boy did my heart pounded that I decided I need to just slow down and let others pass. I didn’t have to worry to get lost because they leave trails of shredded papers every 10m. Even if the papers were scattered and unable to be found it’s Bali, how lost can one be?

When I was catching my breath I decided that this wasn’t supposed to be a race. Yes, the plan was to run, but when you go across paddy field you could hardly run, you have to focus on the road. And when you go too fast you’re too focused you forgot to enjoy the surrounding. So I slowed my pace (still on a quick walk), took time to look around, enjoy the scenery and breathed in as much fresh air as possible.

Yes, it was exhausting, but it sure was more fun than running on a boring soccer field. Think I’ll join again some time in the near future. Unfortunately it was too distracting to bring camera, but who knows the group might upload some like they usually do.

After the run we had some freshies. Snacks, real meal and also free flow of beer. Hmm.. quite a combination eh, beer after run. The cook who prepared the meal was greeted, they had this song where at the end the cook had to gulp down a glassful. Fun!
